The Jordans Story

My mother and father started at T&W Oyster bar in 70's and managed it for about 18 years. I worked along side of them since I was about 13. In 1993, they opened Jordan's House of Seafood on Emerald Isle and ran that for another 24 years until they retired. I worked there with them until I went into law enforcement in 1998. I still helped them in my off time.
My girlfriend (who is now my wife) worked with me there as a waitress until she went into nursing. In April of 2017, we opened Jordan's Smokehouse & Seafood in Swansboro and have been serving the same food that my mother and father have always served with the addition of the BBQ pork, BBQ ribs, and BBQ Brisket. We run a traditional oyster bar serving both local and VA wild caught oysters. By traditional I mean we sell wild caught oysters by the peck while some of other oysters bars might sell the by the oyster.
Keeping it traditional allows us to give the customer a better bargain for the money and creates an awesome vibe as our shuckers are shucking the oysters for the customer and engaging in conversation. (Its my favorite part about the business).
